2020, the lockdown
It started with one housing society.
When the country shut down, buying groceries turned into a daily risk. Every trip to the shop meant queues, crowds and worry, multiplied across hundreds of families in my society alone.
So I built a small hyperlocal marketplace for us. Residents placed their orders online. The society committee pooled them and worked with nearby shops to fulfil everything in bulk, with as little contact as possible.
It wasn't complex software. But it showed me that code is most powerful when it helps people take care of each other.
